The history of Lygon House dates back over 200 years ago.

1833:

 

​The Lygon Almshouses Trust was founded, with its initial name being "WASTE LAND AND LYGON ALMSHOUSES".

 

1962:

The charity was registered as a standard charity with the Charity Commission.

Today:

 

​The Lygon Almshouses Trust is a charity established in 1833 that provides sheltered housing in Fulham for the elderly and vulnerable, with a focus on the people of Fulham. Located at 313-321 Fulham Palace Road, the trust operates a 40-flat building called Lygon House, which offers a communal garden, lounge, and other amenities for its residents. The charity is governed by locally recruited volunteer trustees who are committed to its altruistic mission.
